Overview The Heron Draw Down meter is an essential tool for low flow sampling, purging and well development. Allow the meter to track the draw down for you. When the probe is no longer immersed in water an alarm sounds and the light on the meter goes off. Use the Draw Down meter to determine flow rates for low flow sampling and to protect your pump from running dry in all pumping applications. Tape Specifications The Heron Draw Down Meter uses the premium high tensile steel, easy read yellow tape jacketed in clear polyethylene. This accurate high strength engineering grade tape is manufactured to the ASME standard of accuracy. The flexible tape winds smoothly onto the tough Nylon reel while the dog-bone cross section prevents the tape from sticking to wet surfaces and well casings. The Draw Down tape is marked to engineering scale: Feet and tenths with markings every 1/ 100ft and Meters and Centimetres with markings every mm. Electronic Module Specifications The Draw Down Meter includes a fully potted, fully field removable electronic module. The super bright red LED and buzzer are housed inside this water tight module. The sensitivity dial on the Draw Down module allows false signals from cascading water to be tuned out enabling the most accurate readings possible. The Draw Down Meter works on one 9 volt battery in an easy access battery drawer mounted on the front of the module. A toggle switch will allow the user to switch between modes, Draw Down and standard level measurement mode. This feature allows the Heron Draw Down Meter to be used as both a water level indicator and a Draw Down Meter. Two units for the price of one. Probe Specifications The Draw Down Meter comes with a standard 5/ 8 inch ( 1.6cm) diameter fully submersible, leak proof probe up to 3500ft/ 1100m. The Draw Down probe has been especially designed for easy cleaning by eliminating any holes and recesses that would allow build up of contaminants. The stainless steel probe is 7 inches ( 18cm) in length and is attached to the tape using a flexible linking device that allows the tape and probe to be protected at this vital junction. Reel Specifications The Draw Down Meter is a well balanced unit. The stand alone, sturdy steel frame is coated in Polyurethane for durability. The Vinyl coated carry handle is ergonomically designed for comfort and easier rewinding. The reel flanges and center hub are moulded from high strength Nylon running on a stainless steel axle allowing the smooth running of tape up and down the well or borehole.
